Jim McElvaney – New Audience for AMOS

© Jim McElvaney 2010

May we introduce the newest artwork by Jim McElvaney. The artist left us the following words concerning to his AMOS Showtime cover: “My AMOS artwork is not directly based on the Music of AMOS. It is however an image that I hope will stand out from the ordinary and attract a new audience to the Music of AMOS.” Yeah – let’s support his aim! – Technique: spraypaint, ink, oil, vinyl sticker

Jim McElvaney has studied Fine Arts at the Leeds Metropolitan University. He is based in Brigthon (UK) were he created his artwork that is often expressively unplanned and spontaneous. Jim choses his subjects rather on personal visual affection than on the basis of recognition. If you would like to see more of his work please follow us here.

Craig Watkins – Spotlights ON

© Craig Watkins 2010Playing a show is something very private, intimate even. Each time you give a piece of yourself to your audience. But it also puts you in the spotlight. From one minute to the other you have to be ready to rock, even so you have no idea who will attend your show. Fans, friends, family, ghosts, monsters? On his cover, Craig Watkins, combines all those intense feelings of excitement, fear and adrenalin and he gave a piece of himself to AMOS. We definitely feel a big excitement about this cover.

Technique: ink, paint and some magic dust

Craig Watkins is an illustrator who lives and works in California. His illustrations and characters have an instantly recognizable style, as he tries to display the dark side of his characters. Craig has worked with many companies in the Apparel industry, he has also developed many, many characters for his clients and his paintings have been featured in several international shows.

Steak Zombies – Work in Progress

© 2010 Steak Zombies

“‘Showtime is the time when most people would rather die. For some an addiction, for others panic. For everyone, it’s a challenge to come out and show the world everything you have (or you don’t have). Steak Zombies approaches the issue of self-exposure from the counter-phobic perspective asking ourselves what could be the ultimate embarrassment. At Steak Zombies we think people shouldn’t be ashamed of their bodies and the things their body produce. AMOS Showtime is an opportunity to celebrate that. Viva fertility! Congratulations you are alive! It’s Showtime!”

Established in Berlins Haus Schwarzenberg by Penelope Grabowski and Christoph Petersen, Steak Zombies moved to London in 2005 and is currently formed by Penelope and Daniel Kupfer from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Steak Zombies is an art project that blurs the boundaries of fashion, art and design. It is a reflexion into the art process and an invitation for people to take part. Steak Zombies established through a variety of medias such as plush dolls, accessories, costumes, cat walk performance, physical installations, illustrations and character design. Steak Studio is the kitchen where the commercial work of Dani and Penelope is cooking, have a look!

Tattoo Freestyle, Felix – Artwork Submission

© Tattoo Freestyle, Felix 2010

The Argentinian Artist and Illustrator was so kind as to send us his front cover for our blog – leaving a rather humble comment : “I´m happy with the art I done, I hope you like it, too!” “ABSOLUTAMENTE, Eduardo!” – to say the least!

Check out all of his amazing stuff on www.bertoneeduardo.com
